ABOUT ARMS INC

ARMS Inc was founded in March 1988 by Mark Vonderhuevel and Rob Freistuhler. These two brothers-in-law started the company with the mission to provide specialty service for emergency and fire apparatus.

Before founding ARMS, Mark worked as a service & repair technician for a truck leasing company. One day, Mark received a call from the local sheriff’s office indicating that a fire truck was broken down at a fire. Mark hurried to the scene and repaired the broken brake drums on site.

The dealer of that fire truck was impressed with Mark’s work, and he hired Mark to do service work on a number of other trucks. Mark researched the industry and the area and discovered that specialty repair work for fire apparatus was a real need. He understood that fire and emergency vehicles do intense work and that they still must be ready at a moment’s notice to answer an emergency call.

Mark & Rob began to learn everything they could about fire and rescue equipment, including attending specialty schools and classes. Then they founded their company, ARMS Inc.

The company has expanded on its original mission of repair vehicles. ARMS now also supplies any equipment for fire and rescue departments, including pumps, clothing, trucks and the like.

In November 1997, ARMS moved from its original location to a new state-of-the-art facility. The new location includes more service bays, a test pit and a paint booth. The expansion allows ARMS to provide even better service to emergency and fire apparatus.
