Anna (Shelby County) Ohio. A.R.M.S. takes on a new Custom Fire Apparatus Manufacture, Spencer Manufacturing, Inc. of South Haven Michigan.

A.R.M.S. (Apparatus Repair Maintenance Sales/Services) Inc. announced today that A.R.M.S. will serve as the Ohio Dealer for Spencer Manufacturing, a regional Custom Fire Apparatus Builder. Spencer Manufacturing, Inc. is a family-owned business located in South Haven, Michigan. The company began as a fabrication shop in 1982. The current focus of Spencer is the production of new, custom-manufactured fire and rescue apparatus built on either custom or commercial chassis. Spencer's flexibility and willingness to build each apparatus to fit the customers' need truly defines their goal of being a "custom-manufacturer."

Spencer is well known for the quality apparatus they produce. Many of their employees have current or past fire-fighting experience and their input is a valuable asset to the manufacturing process. A.R.M.S. Inc was founded in March 1988 by Mark Vonderhuevel and Rob Freistuhler. Their mission when they started the company was to provide specialty service for emergency and fire apparatus.

In November 1997, A.R.M.S. moved from its original location outside of Sidney to a new state-of-the-art facility in Anna, Ohio. The new location includes more service bays, a test pit and a paint booth. The expansion allows A.R.M.S. to provide even better service to emergency and fire apparatus.

The company has expanded on its original mission of repairing vehicles and now can also supply any equipment for fire and rescue departments, including pumps, clothing, trucks, and accessories.

A.R.M.S. plans on adding two positions by the end of the year; one is sales and one in service.
